Bridge Building Challenge
There are several steps involved in this challenge. To start with there are 200 large wooden blocks, a river, and a makings of a floatation device. Good Communication, Planning and Team Work are vital for success in this challenge. The group must work together in order to complete the challenge. Its not all plain sailing, all hands must be on deck to get the bridge built in the allocated time period. The Bridge must stand alone for 20 seconds and must pass Xtreme assessment by the Event Marshall. – A fantastic Event for a group that needs to work together as one, or have difficulty working together.
Picture Perfect
Teams are armed with Polaroid Cameras & 30 images of locations / items / moving targets & other unusual photographic material that is located around the event grounds. The idea is simple, but not as easy as it initially seems as Teams must plan ahead for this one and delegate if they are to succeed at this challenge within the time period. 10 points will be awarded for each correct Polaroid handed back to the event marshal, with a maximum of 300 points to try for. – A Great Event for very competitive groups.
Giant Jenga
Your instructor will give you a full brief covering all the rules & tactics needed to attack the opposing Team. This is a real test of skill and hand-eye coordination, two Teams compete at each Jenga Tower. Planning, skill & balance are put to the test, but watch out, as the tower grows so does the chance of it falling over; the loosing Team is the last Team to touch the Tower. – A Great Event for very competitive groups.
Clacker Code
Teams compete in a square pen where there are different sets of coloured jigsaw pieces scattered. Half the Team must enter the pen and must assemble the jigsaw pieces of the correct colour – while completely BLINDFOLDED. The team members outside the pen must act as the eyes of their blindfolded team mates, helping them to piece the jigsaw together. However, they can only communicate with their team mates inside the pen with a variety of noisemakers – which will be provided. Each team must work together to develop an effective means of communication in order to solve the puzzle as quickly as possible. A superb Event demonstrating the power of Communication within the group.
Totem Poles
A mentally and physically demanding challenge, requiring plenty of concentration from all Team members. The Team is presented with a spiral ropes course which is laid out flat on the ground. In the center of the ropes course an 8ft pole stands vertically, with a series of ropes attached to it. The Teams must remove the pole from the course, motioning it in a circular direction only, while at the same time keeping it firmly attached to the ground. A very good Communication Event requiring steady hands, level heads and open ears.
