Duke of Leinster Games

The People of Leinster are fiercely proud of their heritage, and just as fiercely passionate about competing in the Games originally organised by James FitzGerald, 1st Duke of Leinster, since c.1770.

The imaginative new entertainment was based on the true medieval tradition of royal families inviting guests to a festival and feast to compete in Celtic Games.

Traditional games included (and still include):

  • The Puc Fada,
  • Horse Shoe Throwing,
  • Turf Stacking,
  • Boot Throwing (now Wellie Throwing),
  • Barrow races (now Wheel Barrow Races),
  • Sheaf of Wheat
and many more challenges to compete in for the coveted Duke of Leinster Cup.

Xtreme.ie are delighted to now offer these games to clients from home and abroad.
