So how does it work?
Welcome to the world of advertising – extraordinary budgets, exotic locations and glamorous models. Your guests compete to write, direct, film and star in their very own television adverts, inventing strap lines, USP’s, gimmicks and slogans…. Guests are formed into production teams and must use their imagination to write, direct and produce a short advert incorporating famous Icons from around Dublin, in which they all star! Duration: 2.5 to 3.0 hours including briefing
The aim of this team building exercise is for each team to produce a maximum 90 second Advert, filmed in and around the hotel and Dublin incorporating the famous Icons for a total of 9 teams which have approximately 8-10 members per team. Each team member will have a role e.g. Director, Camera man, actor/actress, script writer etc. They will be asked to make an entertaining, informative advert “in the style of” the themes listed below, which have been designated for each team:
- Thriller
- Futuristic Science-Fiction
- Romance
- Superhero Drama
- Action Adventure Drama
“In the style of” can be about the script, but it can also be about costumes or shooting style. We are looking for interesting, informative, memorable and fun ideas, rather than polished production. The teams should be inspired by movies they have seen e.g. there are many kinds of thrillers and there are lots of different superheroes or the teams can create their own Superhero!
The content can incorporate the theme for the conference or things you have learnt during the morning plenary session – these elements can be formulated when the final brief is advised.
On review of the Company brand guidelines PDF, we feel that the best approach is for the Teams to create their own unique adverts for the Company range, incorporating the following;
Brand Philosophy Adverts : (use two of the brand philosophies for creative adverts) (Client to choose
which two).
Company Adverts: 9 products adverts to be created
Each Team will have a total recording time of two to three minutes.
The finished Advert will be “unedited”.

What’s Included:
- Event Manager
- Technical Manager (detailed explanation on usage of cameras and phones)
- Event Co-ordinators (assist in briefing teams and monitoring throughout event)
- A Go Pro Camera and accessories per team.
- Ponchos can be supplied if required (for bad weather)
Footage from the cameras will be supplied on a hard drive to be downloaded to a laptop at the gala dinner/evening event. The footage will be supplied in a format suitable for playback from a laptop.
