Tai Chi in Ireland

Tai Chi is a Chinese practice, hundreds of years old, based on principles literally thousands of years old!

In those ancient times, as today, people were interested in living long, happy lives. With this in mind, a way of thought and movement was devised that allowed the practitioner to move through life situations achieving their goals with a minimum of conflict, with themselves or others.

Once achieved, this way led to strong healthy people with a relaxed, still state of mind. Through this state a person can, like an expert sailor, feel the direction of the wind, adjust their sail accordingly, and progress towards their goal, all this by cooperating with the wind, not fighting against it.

Tai Chi Morning Sessions, (wake up sessions):
Tai Chi is an exercise practiced in the early morning by literally millions of people across the globe. Two of its primary benefits are, firstly, gently readying the body for the day’s activities through gentle stretching and toning movements. Upon completion the practitioner will be physically relaxed yet limber, warmed and ready for activity. Secondly, the mind is activated, becoming clear and bright, while at the same time calm and still. One might say like a student that is ready to learn, eager, but still patient, waiting. Participants in the morning sessions will be bought together to a, “common space”, from which they are ready to partake in either group or solo activities.

Tai Chi 40 minute (rotational session):
Success in the modern working environment is as much about how a person interrelates with their co-workers as it is about what they can achieve alone. This Tai Chi session introduces concepts of cooperative working, where each participant has an important part to play in the success of the group as a greater whole. Concepts of softness, listening and non-conflicting action, (action using the energy of a partner/group as opposed to the individual), are introduced and their applicability into everyday situations explored.
